GE15 has been a watershed election. There was no single trend. Many seats reflected local factors. However, there was a strong trend away from the Barisan Nasional, taken up by Perikatan Nasional. PAS has consolidated, as has the DAP, and GPS in Sarawak. Parti Keadilan Rakyat also suffered at the hands of voters, as have independents.
Here is a list of some of the big names who lost their seats in GE 15.
Perlis:
In Padang Besar, long-time local UMNO stalwart Zahidi Zainal Abidin was soundly defeated, losing his deposit. With Shaidan Kassim winning Arau for PN, after being not endorsed by the BN, and PN took the Kangar seat from PH, PN made a clean sweep of the state. IN the Perlis state election, PN won 14 out of 15 seats, with Mentri Besar Azlan Man losing his seat.
