Malaysia’s new digital ID system disturbingly shaped by WEF
Rapidly growing influence of the WEF in the Malaysian government
On December 1, Malaysia has started rolling out its own digital ID system. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was the first to register.
The new digital ID system is intended to provide a form of identification and verification for individuals when making online transactions. RM80 million were allocated last November for the research and development agency Mimos Bhd to speed up the implementation of the system, and connect to other government databases. This includes the PDRM, LHDN, and JPJ.
The system will link up with the Home Ministry and the National Registration Authority to incorporate the national biometric database into the digital ID system. The system is planned to become a part of applying targeted subsidies, facilitate a digital currency, and eventually becomes a platform for a social credit system.
The Communication and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil is responsible for the system. Fahmi is a devotee to WEF, regularly quoting from their reports.
The strategic plan developed for the digital ID system was prepared by WEF partner and US based Frost & Sullivan in collaboration with another WEF partner company the NEC Corporation. The report states that the system has grown out from the use of MYSejathera during the Covid-19 period, although a completely new system has been developed.
In the Madani’s government’s first year in office, it is becoming very evident that major policy decisions and their implementation are not only clearly aligned to the World Economic Forum’s policies, but actually implemented by WEF affiliated companies.
This follows Dr Zaliha Mustafa accepting the World Health Organization’s International Health Regulations amendments on December 1, ceding authority over Malaysia’s emergency actions to the WHO.
There are at least 6 cabinet ministers who are members of the WEF. Some very quickly erased their pages on the WEF website when they were exposed as members. A number of senior civil servants in the Malaysian civil service have been working with the WEF over a number of years.
