Human rights lawyer Siti Kassim revealed that she was summoned by Bukit Aman last year for speaking at the forum "Dark forces heading for the 15th General Election".
She said that the former chairman of the Bar Association, Ambiga, and the senior leader of the Democratic Action Party, Lim Kit Siang, were also summoned and will be recorded on the 19th of this month.
Siti Kassim told The Malaysian Insight: "I don't know why they (the police) summoned us to take a statement? We didn't make any inflammatory remarks."
The "Dark Forces Towards 15th General Election" forum is held in conjunction with the books "Dark Forces Changing Malaysia" and "Malaysia Towards 15th General Election and Beyond" by public policy analyst Lim Teck Yee and political commentator Murray Hunter.
Malaysian Police Secretary Noor Siah issued a statement in October last year, confirming that former Attorney-General Tommy Thomas and Socialist Party (PSM) Chairman Jaya Kumar made remarks at the forum "Dark Forces towards the 15th General Election" that violated the law. Regarding racial issues, the police will summon 2 people to record statements.
The statement pointed out that the police are investigating the case under Section 505(c) of the Penal Code (intentionally causing public panic and breach of public peace) and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (improper use of network equipment or network services).
The above-mentioned forum was held at SKLCAH on September 17. Tommy Thomas said at the forum that the opposition should tell the public that the "Malay government" has failed.
Prior to this, the media quoted sources as saying that the police had received a report that the above-mentioned two men had touched on issues of racial significance in a forum on September 17 with the theme of "Dark Forces Heading for the 15th General Election".
