Here is the latest press release give to me by Admen Cetinay, vice president of the Supreme Islamic Council of Halal Meat Australia (SICHMA). This clearly puts out SICHMA’s position. From SICHMA’s perspective, the onus now comes back to JAKIM and Thomas Foods Industries (TFI).
It was claimed that the Malaysian Halal Attaché audited the TFI plant at Lobethal on 2nd March, and found no irregularities. However, what remains unexplained is the very quick replacement with the Halal Attaché with Muhammad Naim Mohd Aziz.
Its necessary for JAKIM to be transparent with this important personnel change, at a time an investigation is taking place.
The writer’s communication with JAKIM is flaunt with assertions, as today’s exchange with Asiah Binti Alkharib Shah.
Asiah suggested the writer come to Malaysian and meet with the director general of JAKIM. Â The writer has on a number of occasions requested interviews with the JAKIM director general. Many requests, especially over the last two months were just ignored. Here is a sample of the reply received back in 2020.
It took 5 months to receive a reply, yet it was claimed no one came forward.
In regards to Thomas Foods International, a press statement made on 12th May, contradicts the SICHMA statement.
Please find the SICHMA press statement in full. JAKIM, TFI, and the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water, and Environment (DAWE), need to reiterate their positions.
