Sirul Azhar Umar is today a free man free to come and go anywhere he wants to in Australia. He is now united with Azam, his son. What irony or karma. Najib is in and he is out.
There are a few people in KL tonight who will be a bit restless.... among them are the three millionaire Datuks who have profited from Sirul's detention in Villawood. More to come.

There are a few things to consider when celebrating Sirul's release from detention in Australia. Firstly Sirul's release has nothing to do with the offences he was charged with and found guilty of in Malaysia.
The High Court's decision is an adminstrative one based on a reasoning by the High Court that the Australian government's failure to process these detainees within a reasonable period of time was unconstitutional and in breach of their Human Rights and therefore unlawful. It is not a decision based on the merits of Sirul's case.
Of course if Sirul were to now speak out, he is likely to expose himself to further prosecution, re examination of his case and compelled to provide further details of not just the allegations and conviction against himself but also against those who funded his adventure.
He has already been advised to keep mum and is being transferred to an unknown destination within Australia as a protected person. A review of the High Courts decision is likely by parliament,
