State election results verses my predictions
A quick reckoning – Basically the same patterns as the last general election
Its always good to be accountable for one’s predictions. These predictions were summarized These were all summarized in the hyperlink. Some of the results are not completely finalized, so there maybe an error on one or two seats.
Malaysia: Predictions Coming state elections
Perikatan Nasional (PN) will contest all 235 seats in the 6 states. PAS is allocated more than half the seat allocation with 126 seats, Bersatu 83 seats, and Gerakan with 36 seats. PN will use the PAS logo during the campaign for Terengganu and Kelantan.
A total of 9,773,571 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in the six state elections. A total of 529 candidates from nine parties and 41 independent candidates are vying for the 245 state seats up for grabs.
Surprisingly, voter turnover was just above the 74 percent in the last general election. This probably favored Pakatan Harapan slightly. Across the 6 states the vote reflected the same patterns as the vote in the last federal election. If the state elections had of been held on the same day as the general election last year, they would have been more or less the same.
This means Pakatan Harapan have not won over voters’ hearts and minds since last November. UMNO continued to lose electorally, where Negeri Sembilan is their last stronghold. Terengganu and Kedah can no longer be seen as swing state or bellwether states. Perikatan Nasional are in a good position to move forward in Penang and Selangor in future elections.

When the British crafted the revered Constitution as safeguarded by our wise, caring and compassionate Yang Di Pertuan Agong and the Royal Sultans, Whitehall had tasted defeats in the Malayan Union in 1945, Palestine in 1946 and the Partition of India with 1 million deaths in 1947. The Malayan Constitution of 1957 was the best the British could give from their experiences and the knowledge that the Malays were fully united. Hence, the Constitution is majority biased. Then, who could foretell without the crystal ball that the Malays under the stress and strains of democracy and wealth would break-up into many political factions. As I see it, the Malays are just one step away from being unified again due to the thoughtless shenanigans of the born again christian Hainanese DAP Leadership. Where else but Malaysia ? The Opposition won 140 State seats. The incumbent coalition Government only 90 seats ! The forthcoming 16th GE indeed will be interesting. Or just one person's decision will create a unified Malay Coalition based on 2 Rs with the DAP and its leaders who look Chinese on the outside but no Chinese inside left out of the loop. Who created this mess ? Your guess is as good as mine! Where else but Malaysia ?
