The Media is being trashed by one-sided pro-government material
Self-censorship has ruined any media objectivity
Over the last 12 months, Malaysia’s online news portals have become government compliant in what type of material they are publishing. A great amount of material is now either ‘apologetic’, or praises the current government.
This is not because all news portals are pro-government. This is because news portals, which on the whole live from ‘hand to mouth’ have to survive. They are inherently being forced to follow this line and publish neutral and pro-government material to escape the scrutiny of the power currently directing the MCMC.
To demonstrate the point, Syed Akbar Ali, in his blog OutSyed The Box, undertook an analysis (or some might like to call ‘Fact Check”) of Liew Ching Tong’s article in FMT titled “Year One: Malaysia’s New Political Order”.
This approach is going to be counter-productive for the electoral hopes of Pakatan Harapan at the next election. This approach may also lower monthly ratings of the news portals that ‘lose their balance’.
Most of all this is a sign that the press in Malaysia is far from free.
YB Liew Chin Tong has posted something on his Facebook here about how wonderful is the unity gomen. I have a few snippets.
YB Liew : A successful political order in Malaysian history requires two prerequisites, ability to win votes across ethnic lines and to gain support of the Sabah and Sarawak parties and people.
OSTB : But YB Liew you had to team up with your sworn enemies to form your unity gomen. You teamed up with kleptocrats and thieves. You teamed up with thieves whom the people voted against. It was NOT your "ability to win votes across ethnic lines" at all.
What you have achieved is a hodge podge coalition. And before you could get Sarawak to join you, Anthony Loke had to go to Sarawak and personally kow tow and apologise to the Sarawkians for some dumb things the DAP fellows had said earlier about the Sarawakians.
(Nov 24): DAP secretary general Anthony Loke Siew Fook has publicly apologised to Sarawak premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, more popularly known as Abang Jo, for any statements by party leaders in the past that may have offended the state government and people in the state.
Have you forgotten? It was NOT your "ability to win votes across ethnic lines" at all.
That was not winning votes across ethnic lines at all. That was begging and grovelling to form a coalition with your enemies.
And now - not even 12 months later - the Sarawakians are well aware that the DAP in Sarawak is already making plans and preparations to challenge ALL the seats held by Abang Johari's people in Sarawak. The DAP guys in Sarawak are preparing to stab Abang Johari in the back. If I know of it, certainly Abang Johari knows better. Lu ingat apa, orang tak tahu kah?
YB Liew : First, on 19 December 2022, ... won a confidence vote in Parliament.
OSTB : YB Liew, you know very well that there was no such vote in Parliament. There was NO official or proper vote of confidence.
"The confidence motion was passed by a simple voice vote - with lawmakers voicing their support".
It was simply MPs shouting their support in Parliament. There was no proper ballot or an official and proper counting of the vote of confidence.
YB Liew : The UMNO party election in March saw the mainstream group which supported madani won a landslide victory.
OSTB : YB Chin Tong you are being reckless. Before the UMNO elections the corrupted fellow kicked out H20 and his gang. They threatened UMNO leaders who did not support the corrupted fellow. There was no contest for the No 1 position. If you call that a landslide victory you must be kidding yourself.
YB Liew : The six-state elections and by-elections of Pulai and Simpang Jeram saw the PN losing significant number of seats
OSTB : The six state elections were a disaster for the PH and especially the PKR.
Perikatan Nasional won the most seats overall.
PKR lost more than 1/3 of its previously held seats. It was a disaster for the PKR.
Umno contested 108 seats but won just 19, a paltry win rate of 17.6%. UMNO lost 89 seats. UMNO failed to win a single seat in Kedah and Terengganu, and won only one seat in Kelantan.
If the SIX state elections were held today, the results will be worse for the PH.
YB Liew : challenge now is whether the Unity Government is able to launch a second economic take-off
OSTB : Well in under 12 months the fellow has visited over 20 countries and "signed up" RM323 Billion worth of "investments". That is about 20% of the country's GDP.
Why not visit another 40 countries? Maybe can get RM646 Billion?

We have to look at the bigger picture.
Even when Mullah Anwar can do nothing to save his country (assuming it's Malaysia) he can save the world, or at least Palestine - or just Gaza.
Looks at the pictures of Mullah Anwar slinking around the crowds of foreign dignitaries and treacherous types trying to save the Palestinians (or just pretending) he's never anywhere near the front of the pictures.
Even when China is a "nearby country" to Anwar, nobody cared about placing our supreme leader anywhere near the Chinese leader to at least let our mullah pretend he's of some minimal consequence.
Obviously no one gives a shiite about the importance of Mullah Anwar, even more so the great role he can play in the Middle East. As result, when you can see Anwar among the "great and the good" he's always lurking around putting up with not being acknowledged, and that, he responds with his idiotic and sheepish grin.
We should put our mullah out of his misery and Malaysia out of her embarrassment by petitioning our monarch to have Anwar removed from his prime minister post. Anwar is not serving his own country, there is no reason Malaysians need put up with him, Anwar can always remain in the Middle East.
Just don't get caught doing anything funny and our mullah will not get pushed from a high building..!
A year on, the rakyat is caught up with unhealthy dynamics of a bisexual pm and his sodom madani cabinet.
The risk is one normalises the abnormal and becomes accustomed to living in the madness.
That is when things really goes wrong..
