What can we learn from the US Military-Industrial Complex?
Analogies with the Malaysian deep state
Ever since Dwight D Eisenhower’s Military-Industrial complex speech just before he left office in January 1961, the concept of the ‘deep state’ became a popularized myth. However, with the Covid-19 pandemic, came a lot of proof that other industries, the media, banks, and officials within the government also played an integral part of the so called ‘deep state’. The deep state and narratives became very closely intertwined.
Corporations like General Electric, Raytheon, Boeing, General Motors, and others rose in size and influence in the Fortune 500 during the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s. These an a number of new corporations seem to have much greater influence on policy, than what we used to believe corporations should in government.
In Malaysia today, the GLCs now exercise undue influence over government. Very often, policy making is orientated around GLCs. Look at corruption and the way GLCs demand resources from the government. Just look at how many contracts are awarded to these companies without any tenders.
GLCs need to be broken up.

Proton could have led Bolehland in the creation of our own military industrial complex. That's before the morons running Mahathir's "own child" did so (typically) badly that it suicided itself expensively on the way to the usual guaranteed certain horrible death. Not only that Proton managed to cause massive haemorrhage of our national coffers in the course of some twenty years.
It was a godsend, Heaven brought our Chinese uncles to raise Proton from its costly and painful (for Malaysia, not Proton's bunch of thieving comedians) zombie non-existence. The Chinese, of course, performed a blazing miracle, turned Proton into a roaring success.
If not run by our thieving prized moronic monkeys, Proton could have become like tiny Singapore, producing armoured vehicles, small arms, and munition sold worldwide. Our Proton, before the Chinese took it over only produced crap origami coffins on four cheap tyres, and only mostly driven to repair outfits. Proton cars were so full of sh*t that even the "Kelings" in Mamakthir's ancestral homeland didn't want to buy any, preferring their more reliable rickshaws.
We also have amazing ship-builders who can definitely contribute to the creation of our military industrial complex. We possess such unrivalled skill in building stealth warships that nobody, including ourselves, can see. Of the some six or seven LCS vessels commissioned, no one has even seen one!
The moral of the story is, if our monkeys were smart enough, they could run the MIC like the Yanks can, as big money-laundering operation and vehicle to rip the taxpayers off massive amounts of money. Money can easily disappear and there would be little or no scrutiny of the big-time racket. And our crooked politicians most certainly can run rackets.
We can design and produce more cars like the old Protons, flying cars, and more super-stealthy warships. In fact we can do everything to milk the cash cow, the sky, outer space, is no limit - we can hitch rides to space forever to make teh tarik.
The problem with our monkeys, though, is they don't have patience, or intelligence, out of hereditary stupidity, they always want to kill the goose that lay the golden eggs immediately. And stash their loot overseas.
We can learn that pak lah managed to transform tun m's umno party linked into government linked companies. Tq yab tun abdullah.
From 2004 onwards, there were no more umno based investment hldg companies such as fleetgroup, realmild sdn bhd or uem-renong. Mic maika hldgs and mca multipurpose bhd too is gone.
Glc was ran by non politicians such as idris jala, wahid omar, azman mokhtar shahril ridza.
Petronas earn about rgt250mil net profit per day. Not sure how petronas can manipulate government policy.
