I do not know who is going to do it. I do not know how they are going to do it, nor am I able to advise, direct or tell them how to do it, but someone has to tell the incoming King what his duties as Mr. King are going to be. This much I know: MACC and PETRONAS are not going to report to him. The HSR is NOT going to be aligned in such a way that the border crossing is via Forest City, and Judges will not be appointed directly by the King or the Royals.

As for his intent to hunt down all corrupt people, I am sure that the rakyat will all be for it, provided it is done without fear or favour - which in simple language means….Tuanku himself must stop giving out RM$10K kasuts to anyone he thinks has done something that pleases him lest that be construed by others to be a bribe for services rendered by people who are already being paid a salary for doing the work they do.

The Constitution tells us that Mr. King is a Constitutional Monarch. He is the ceremonial head of state.

The overriding constitutional provisions in Article 40(1) and 40(1A) states that in the exercise of all his functions under the Constitution and laws, the Yang di–Pertuan Agong shall act on advice save in those areas where the Constitution confers discretion.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong is the head of state but not the head of government. He reigns but does not rule. The executive power resides with the Prime Minister.

Mr. King enjoys no immunity in civil or criminal law. He is removable from office in three direct or indirect ways:

• Dismissal by the Conference of Rulers – a unique provision of accountability of the King to his brother Rulers.

• If he ceases to be the ruler of his State in accordance with the Constitution of his State.

• If he is charged with a criminal offence in the Special Court, he is suspended temporarily from office. If acquitted, he resumes office.

So as the 17th Yang di Pertuan Agong, we all say long may Tuanku reign during his tenure as King and we hope that in hunting down the corrupt people in our nation, Tuanku’s cakap serupa bikin. Enough said.
