The only dark forces in Malaysia are those shadows the foreign educated Malaysians jump at. They are the shadows of tall white figures that follow them around spooking the hollows in their minds about demons that don't exist and summoning them to an exorcism which people like Anwar followed to his detriment and to that of the nation.
China saw the tall figure and decided to ward it off. The tall figure turned out to be a tall white man of straw. China prepared itself for the tall white man's revenge knowing full well the straw man will burn with just one match stick.
China has the experience of having spent nearly half a century in isolation. Embargoes and boycotts don't scare it. India on the other hand has now fallen victim to the same straw man. However being deeply religious and superstituous, unlike China, India cannot shake off that straw man. Neither can Malaysia untill and unless another iron fisted Mahathir comes along and does another operation lallang.
Mahathir himself is a straw man, had to rely on an elderly white mercenary auntie to get places for him.
Otherwise, Mahathir spends time making noises about Palestine hiding behind his once convenient stooge Matthias.
The others are called cronies.
Still, the real opium for Malaysia is religion, you don't need any "iron hand".
If we faithfully stick with our bomohs, all will be fine. Wearing the hijab or looking like cheap copies of Arabs, or parroting texts but not being able to speak Arabic to buy a halal sausage would no longer be a problem - or fcuking joke!
Dysfunctional political thinking - sometimes going to extremes that are not beneficial, in speeches filled with insults here and there - have never led to what we want to build.
