Make our Mullah Anwar the Grand Mufti (pope of sort) and we can have our very own homegrown Borgias. Malaisesians would stay riveted with the intrigues, conspiracies, skulduggery, etc etc follow every chapter with bated breath or just bad breath.

I think I know already who can play Lucrezia...

If one studies the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, it wouldn't take much to realize that such powers already vest with the King under the Constitution. It is why the Police like the armed forces are referred to as in the case of the police, as Polis Di Raja. His Majesty's Police force. From Parliament to the cop on the beat as it is in the case of England from where the Malaysian Constitution adopts its framework, the King does not require Parliament's permission to exercise his powers under the Constitution in this regard. Although it is the case where direct control of the force has fallen into disuse in recent times, that power has not been diminished at all.

As for those like the Berish's of this world and the Chinese, urban Malays and Indians who now complain about such a development, they must accept the blame for the resurgence of the previously dominant powers of the Raja Raja Malaya. Their precipitous acts of defiance of the rulers, of the rule of law and their insults towards the religion of Islam in Malaysia with the backing of foreign powers has finally met its match. They are now faced with the outcomes of their actions of decades of weakening an otherwise liberal and stable system of government.
