The Malays in Malaysia is made to look like dumbs 24/7. They are rotting inwards and outwards. The country has gone to the dogs with unfettered corruption rising to its peak.We have shameless politicians who will do anything 'for a quick one'. For the Malays they have been pounded with the idea that other Malaysians hard earned wealth is also theirs.

A sobering piece. And that's without mentioning the very many thousands of elite Malaysians (including the political elite) with boltholes and properties and companies and accounts scattered overseas. I wonder how much capital has been shifted offshore over the past few decades? And where it came from? If the dirty money only (30%?) was repatriated we could wipe out our debt at a stroke.

In the context of Malaysian politics & if we are to be realistic of what has and still happening, our politicians in power are merely scum that floats to the top.

Lack of talent can easily be forgiven, but couple that with them being almost always tainted with greed & predisposed to being corrupt, there you have the perfect settings for a failed state.

If you were to brand me as racist, you’re in complete denial and insecure of your own race.

Trillions of ringgit has been usurped by these scum politicians for the past 60+ years and non Malays are still the bogeymen that are portrayed as a grave existential threat to the bumiputras.

The above mentioned scumbags are smart enough to mix ultra conservative religious practices into every facet of Malaysian life, to bolster their hold over their own kind and forever marginalised the non Malays.

Guess what? My extended family of 9 members are amongst the statistics of Malays moving away. It’s not that we don’t love the country; on the contrary we miss everything we know about “tanah tumpahnya darah ku “. But it’s the political disgust, and the lack of meritocracy that drove us away. Do bumiputeras really have any advantage given the complexities of racial fabric in Malaysia? It’s bumiputera politics that has destroyed it… it’s fair dinkum for us in Australia because we get a fair shake like any other Aussie . By the way, the word “race” is politically incorrect here…

Yes, there are an increasing number of Malays having migrated or have not returned despite not giving up their Malaysian citizenship.

1. I know a Senior Malay pilot who decided to leave after Tajuddin Ramli berated the pilots at a meeting saying: I can shut down the airline and you will all be without jobs. I have CELCOM (I think), I don’t need MAS. My Malay friend said I don’t want people to think I am a B777 captain because I am a Malay.

2. A young Malay lady in Muslim tiding on a flight to Melbourne, said she completed her Masters in Australia and is now nearing completion of her PhD in biomedical science, but she has no intention of returning to Malaysia. Her reason; the environment is suppressing.

3. I, myself have migrated and have a career in international consultancy being called upon to reform various developing countries. I meet Msian politicians overseas, who tell me that I should return to Msia and serve the Government. But it was only lip service, I could sense resentment when I visited the Minister’s office on one of my trips.

So, I hv to say: God help Msia !

Ken & Michael SOONG, 2013, “Migrating to AUSTRALIA: good meh???” It’s about their “bitter sweet (and sour) truth” experiences as Malaysian migrants. Their short commentary of ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to “Is Australia all rosy, nice, and dandy?” is noteworthy discussion.
