The Selangor state government has no money to develop state ? What happen to all the money collected from all sources of state's taxes? But, it has land to be given away which belongs to the people for a project funded by the Federal government! Who are the actual beneficiary of this so called Selangor maritime gateway? Are there no better way to spend this money?

When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”

― Frédéric Bastiat

It is very easy to pay lip service to fight to be a clean government and to get rid of corruption, but this case the PM himself is covering the hidden approval of a project to favour a private firm. at the expense of the people of selangor.

Economics dominates politics - and with that domination comes different forms of ruthlessness. All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible.”

When people can get away with crimes just because they are wealthy or have the right connections, the scales are tipped against fairness and equality. First, no one will be able to develop the land if theres no proper reclamation work is done. Hence if berjaya group is willing to pay first to reclaim the river and do a proper eco restoration, then that land became viable for development. It is a clever deal by the state to pay with that land as it would have no value in the first place if no one wants to do the job.

The second project has nothing to do with berjaya group. It will be done by a fully state government company contractor and they subcontract it to a consortium of subcontractors. In short, the federal govt pays the contractor after the consultant conform job done and sign it off.the contractor then pays the subcontractors.

55%.bank will not approve loan to lumayan sdn bhd alone. They will approve to berjaya group. If berjaya dont guarantee the loan to the lenders, the reclamation project cannot be done.

The flood mitigation project has nothing to do with berjaya. Ot is a seperate project where landasan lumayan is the developer.

There is no mention of the alleged billions of ringgits worth of tin ore, amang, rare earths etc in the Agreement. This wealth legally belongs to the Rakyat of Selangor and should be safe-guarded and protected from fraud and theft in broad daylight.

Theres two projects here.

The first one is river reclamation. This has to do with eco restoration. It is awarded to landasan lumayan berjaya sdn bhd.

The state pays the company rgt700mil to do the job in kind ie land. For the land to be used as collateral, berjaya has to come in as majority shareholder. This is because the financiers trust the ability of berjaya groups strength. That land alone is not enough. In short berjaya guarantees payment to the lenders in bonds or other forms of collateral as well.

The second project is flood mitigation. It is awarded by the federal government to the fully state owned landasan lumayan sdn bhd. Chances are this company will subcontract to a consortium of subcontractors. Each are specialist in their own areas such as constructing floodgates, levees, evacuation routes etc.

Note the landasan lumayan BERJAYA sdn bhd is a different entity from landasan lumayan sdn bhd.🙂
