Current pro-tem secretary of Parti Hijau Malaysia (Green Party of Malaysia), Abdul Razak Ismail's article in Focus Malaysia below is very interesting.

However, one has to be careful to distinguish between Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB) and the joint-venture Landasan Lumayan Berjaya Sdn Bhd (LLB), in which Berjaya Land (BLand) owns 55% and LLSB 45%, thus giving BLand a majority stake in the joint-venture.

Also, why was Abdul Razak Ismail, former secretary of Otai Reformis 1998, expelled from PKR?

In the comments to the article - "Selangor MB, Vincent Tan & Runding Terus: A toxic mix of business and politics?" by Hussein Abdul Hamid, a commentor Johan Taharin points to the Selangor Maritime Gateway master plan, which describes the project which "covers 88,000 acres of land along 56 km of Klang River. This initiative ascertains the quality and opportunity of potential developments along the river." The key word being "developments".

The above web page also includes a link to download a PDF slide deck of an "Urban Redevelopment - Case Study: Selangor Maritime Gateway", the second page of the deck of slides which mentions LLSB as a 100% owned river management subsidiary of MBI (Menteri Besar Incorporated):-

https://www.selangormaritimegateway.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Urban-Redevelopment.pdf

By its web address above, it looks like this case study was posted in August 2019, when Dato' Seri Azmin Ali was the Selangor Menteri Besar. The current Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari replaced Azmin after he split from PKR following the famous or infamous "Sheraton Move" on 23 February 2020.

From its stated Vision & Mission, it appears that this idea for a Selangor Maritime Gateway was mooted in 2016 or perhaps even earlier.

The commentor, Johan Taharin goes on to provide the link below to download the request for proposal - RFP No: LLSB/SMG/PD-RFP-S17/22-001 - entitled -PROPOSED JOINT DEVELOPMENT BASED ON A RIVER FRONTING CONCEPT ON APPROXIMATELY 14.794 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED AT SEKSYEN 17, SHAH ALAM, SELANGOR. Download of this RFP is password protected, though by its title, it does not appear to be about widening or deepening the river as part of flood mitigation, which is long overdue, given the flash flooding of places by the river, such as Taman Sri Muda and other farther down-river.

Also, just very recently, Focus Malaysia reported that Tan Sri Vincent Tan and his son Datuk Seri Robin Tan stepped down as board members of Berjaya Corp (BCorp), thus making way for an all-woman BoD:-

"This comes about as Tan has announced his resignation as non-independent and non-executive chairman of the Main Board-listed conglomerate with his son Datuk Seri Robin Tan Yeong Ching joining his footstep to give up his non-independent and non-executive deputy chairman post in the latest boardroom shuffle which has paved way to the formation of an all-women board in BCorp."

Just my two-sen worth - Naming the 56km of the Klang River from Port Klang to Mid-Valley in Kuala Lumpur as the "Selangor Maritime Gateway" does not make sense, since from what I can see from Google Maps satellite view, there are no jetties up-river from the Kurau Bridge over the Klang River to Northport.

So to name all the 56km of the Klang River up-river from Port Klang, which essentially is a glorified open sewer serving municipalities from where the river empties into the Straits of Malacca at Port Klang, up-river to Mid-Valley as the "Selangor Maritime Gateway", and with the glorified open sewer continuing further up-river all the way to Ulu Kelang and Gombak nonsense, since what kind of "maritime gateway" is it, when not even sampans ply the KLang river today.

Also note that not all of MBI's subsidiaries are listed amongst its Commercial Cluster and Strategic Cluster subsidiaries.

For example Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd (KDEB) and Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Bhd (KHSB) are not mentioned, apart from KDEB Waste Management which handles the rubbish collection and disposal.

Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Berhad

"Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Berhad (“KHSB”) was established on 24 September 2001. KHSB is 100% owned by Mantapmurni Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned company by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) ("MBI Selangor"), a corporate body that was established to administer assets and investments of the Selangor State Government, and to represent the State in economic and business activities."

One of their current projects is The Atera transit-oriented development (ToD), actually in Section 51A, Petaling Jaya, across the TNB high-tension line reserve, the Kelana LRT line and the Asia Jaya LRT station from Section 14, Petaling Jaya, unless the authorities have plans to re-designated that part of Section 51A on which The Atera development is being built (currently a commercial/industrial area) as part of Section 14 (a long-time residential area):-

"THE ATERA PETALING JAYA"

"PJ’s next urban living marvel."

"For The Atera, location is paramount. As a new icon that will rejuvenate the matured neighbourhood of Section 14, Petaling Jaya with its transit-oriented development status, it brings a fuss-free commute to residents via the Asia Jaya LRT. The Atera has been built with one thing in mind: to uplift its residents in every aspect of life. Designed for young urbanites who are building a rising career or setting roots down as a couple, an array of wholesome facilities for self-improvement and families as a whole are offered, while every home comes complete with semi-furnished interiors for better living. Live closer to your workplace, to the vibrancy of life, to lifestyle amenities, and the people you love. It’s closer to all that matters."

On 1 September 2022, Paramount Corporation posted a Development Rights Agreement on Bursa Malaysia:-

"TRANSACTIONS (CHAPTER 10 OF LISTING REQUIREMENTS) : NON RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS AGREEMENT BETWEEN ANEKA SEPAKAT SDN BHD, A WHOLLY-OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF PARAMOUNT CORPORATION BERHAD, AND KUMPULAN HARTANAH SELANGOR BERHAD FOR THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF TWO (2) CONTIGUOUS PARCELS OF LEASEHOLD COMMERCIAL LAND MEASURING APPROXIMATELY 9.662 ACRES IN TOTAL AREA SITUATED IN SECTION 14, BANDAR PETALING JAYA, DISTRICT OF PETALING, STATE OF SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN"

A more detailed announcement by Paramount Corp was posted at a downloadable PDF on Bursa Malaysia on 22 December 2017, when Dato' Seri Azmin Ali was Selangor Menteri Besar:-

Item 2.2 of the Development Rights Agreement reads:- "KHSB is a public company incorporated in Malaysia on 24 September 2001 under the previously enacted Companies Act, 1965, and is principally involved in the business of investment holding, property development and provision of management services. Currently, KHSB has an issued share capital of RM194,124,520.40 represented by 485,311,301 ordinary shares, all of which are held by Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB)."

It's hard to find more information about KDEB online, apart from KDEB Waste Management:-

https://www.kdebwm.com/wp-content/cache/all/index.html

However KDEB is listed No 7, together with its Board of Directors, on the Dewan Negeri Selangor Electronic Question and Answer Page.

From my own experience, compared to most federal government websites, Selangor state government websites are not particularly user friendly.

Check on the datum jelatek project. Is it a white elephant? Did pkns overpaid conlay construction sdn bhd by a few hundred mil? Is that why they are trying to sell the units at rgt 1200 psf and the bank wont approve the loan to purchasers at that price? Did pkns had to issue bonds to pay for this project? Just curious..
