"NGOs and concerned citizens have provided suggestions and proposals for the Malaysia plans and budget exercises without fail, year after year". -Perhaps this is where the c rux of the problem lies. Who are these NGO's? are they really NGO's or like Transparency International stalking horses of western countries seeking to impose their will on countries like Malaysia. C4 for instance was a fully funded NED (national endowment for democracy- a CIA US funded Regime Change Initiative of the US government- they so much as admitted to funding the C4 group and others).

Why i it that a group because of its Islamic credentials are unsuited for such a job? They have a better more in depth connection to the 70% of Malaysia's population the Malays and Muslims. Perhaps its time Malaysia listened to them instead of through a Chinese, Indian, European or American filter.

In the past, Malays and Muslims had contributed so much to the economy!

This directive by pmx to include jakim in the develoment of policies and programs for the nation is an investment that cost next to nothing but may give a good return in terms of votes in the upcoming state election.

All jakim has to do is get ChatGPT to suggest this new vision of anwar 'excellence with a soul' into a few jakim complied policies and programs within the framework of this madani government.

The investment is nothing.

An example that can be suggested: all borrowings must not be riba based unless of course 'dharurat' if such compliant are required of the banks.

Malays think that more Islamic input leads to better outcomes, in spite of evidence to the contrary. In fact Malaysia’s success is because of secular principles of economic growth and development. Methinks that when Malay ministers run out of ideas, or have no ideas, they inevitably turn to religion. This has been their MO and will always be their MO.

Malay Muslim economics and their contribution to it over centuries was never a blank canvas. For political expediency purposes their contribution to the economy was overshadowed by the economic activities of colonials who at the local levels measured it by the output of their local agents, those Indian and Chinese imports fleeing the desperate situations in their own homelands. They were more compliant with the British system and accepted their dominance over them. The Malays who inspitte of their 'passive resistance' to the overlord domination over their culture and religion (the latter an integral part of their economic and social development) were dignified in their approach to what the British and Portuguese Indians and Chinese had taken away from them. Their land was confiscated by the British and appropriated to themselves and to their agents the Chinese and Indians who also developed these lands for their benefit to the detriment of the Malays. Thee Malays persevered and after Mahathir ascendancy to government, a form of positive reverse discrimination was the only way forward. It bore fruit and created a new Malay middle class. Mahathir's initiatives spawned a new prosperity that did not exclude the others. Chinese mainly grew very prosperous as a result but later joined with these so called NGO's (read Regime Changers) to overthrow the government of Mahathir and gradually corrupt and destroy UMNO. Only a disciplined approach to curing wasteful consumerism will strengthen Malaysia's economic system can put Malaysia's may be necessary to balance Malaysia's economy and put it back on an even keel again. For that Islamic codes may be necessary.
