The development of urban support for pas has resulted in pas being the largest party in parliament with 43 seats.
What took pas so long?
It was Anwar.
When anwar joined umno in 1982, his first mission was to ensure pas stays in the east coast. Hence the 'amanat hadi' tape. Pas was reduced to staying in kelantan and trengganu.
When umno government scholarship students sent overseas were becoming pas supporters, anwar was sent there in 1987 to destroy that influence. The malaysian muslim international student group stop receiving funding. This too set back pas growth.
Today, pas has huge support and it is growing fast especially in urban areas.
Anwar is again entrusted to stop it.
To mitigate pas growth, Anwar and his government may have :
1.allocated rgt 250mil for digital campaign against pas.
2.blocked more than 1000 pas influencers and tiktokkers online.
3.appointed lokman adam to recruit 1000 cybertroopers, build studios for livestreaming and trained them to attack pas.
4.been working hard to revive umno as this would ensure malay do not seek refuge in pas.
5.been trying to get najibs three children to declare support for ph-bn.
6.been positioning anwar to be its next umno president to replace the tainted zahid
7.been showing anwar untold stories movie in all public universities.
8.decided to ask umno to invite anwar to its perhimpunan agong next week.
9. asked dap to withdraw the 'setapak declaration' written by late chen man hin that is outdated.
10.ask dap to pledge support for special position of the melayus in this coming perhimpunan agong.
11. Dap is flexible on approach and method but are firm on their ideology.
12. Accepting 'tan sri' title does not mean dap forgo the central doctrine of their party.
Anwar is predatorial, has the skill and experience to stop pas. Pas is fully aware of anwar's effectiveness.
That said, if anwar fails to stop pas, they will kill umno completely. It will also guarantee additional 20 seats for pas in next general election and will secure 60 to 70 seats in parliament.
Watch as pas take 17 state seats in selangor if umno contest that many and bersatu another 15 seats belonging to pejuang, pbm, warisan and pkr.
..the bad thing about dap is they want equal for all. that is against the constitution that guarantees special rights of the malays. Dap also go against the constitution when it comes to freedom of religion that states that other religion cannot be spread amongst muslim..the kalimah allah issue is a clear insensitive issue.
I raised the "red flag" on this issue (the rise of Malay Muslim interests in the hinterland) in an article I published on 15 November 2015 an earlier one in 27 of April titled Bersih's Gift to Ketuanan Melayu 2014 and later one 24 May 2014 titled Malay Anger Boiling Over.
The rise of PAS in Malaysia to now being 'Kingmaker' in Malaysian politics is not something save for the blind to have not seen coming. There's more to come on the horizon. PAS's ascendency to the role of 'Kingmaker' in Malaysia's politics is an event of default by the major political parties, including the unregistered ones funded by foreign governments such as Bersih, C4 and the Malaysian Bar.
This is by no means a 'flash in the pan' but a co mingling of interests long accumulated within the hearts and minds of the otherwise divided Malays who relied on a westernized and western influenced polity that's done nothing for them apart from abusing and insulting them and their religion to the point they are now prepared to sacrifice some of their liberal democratic freedoms in exchange for a return of power and their dignity to them.
Don't rule out the hand of Dr. Mahathir in this equation. PAS is as contemptuous of Anwar Ibrahim and his family and their false Islamic credentials as is Mahathir.
The decline in support for PKR/BN is very well much of their own doing. Both Anwar and Zahid are too individualistic amd personal in bringing the parties together.
Support for UMNO will raise again if Zahid resigns from TPM post /as UMNO President and pull away from PH. PH will collapse. But this is the best strategy and opportunity for UMNO to rebuild and get organised. They are better off to be in the opposition where UMNO members would remain intact with the party.
As for PN, this coalition are seen as the most cleanest party with clean Malay Leaders among all the Malaysian parties. PAS strong positioning has a lot to do with their teamwork with Bersatu, vice versa. They are made for each other.
Well said. Caution must be taken as anwar might be president of umno and dap may declare their ideology altered to accommodate the turnaround. Digital campaign is key for PN to mitigate anwars growing support from the youth.
Watch ph correct their mistakes by taking zahid out and putting anwar as new president of umno. Dap will also withdraw their setapak declaration and strengten their ph bn coalition.
How sure are you? Im a bit skeptical with pmx

The rising tide of urban support for Pas indeed.
🇲🇾🎸
The only good thing about PAS is its anti-corruption. The bad thing it is its Islamic rhetoric.

PH backtracked their election promises and included zahid hamidi as DPM which was the gravest mistake

Hope you are right. That will make my day
