Anwar ibrahim is an incorrigible liar and a political psychopath. That sums it.

"Instead, Anwar changed the name of the national language from Bahasa Malaysia to Bahasa Melayu, further bringing the country’s education system backwards."

Kinda dumbfounded! Just by correcting the language term to Bahasa Melayu can bring the country's education system backwards. How is this possible Murray? Where is there such a language thing as Malaysian language.

A cockroach or perhaps a fork-tongued lizard. But surely a closet Islamist among others, for certain.

AI has UMNO DNA. All his talk of reformasi is a lot of hot air. Now we know who and what he is. There will not be a 2nd chance.

"The reality of this espousal of Islam will be at the expense of a modern Malaysian state and the rights and freedoms that come with a progressive society. Too much in the past, Anwar has erred on keeping the status-quo. All Malaysian leaders have used Islam to further their political ambitions."

That paragraph sums up the source of Malaysia's current malaise.

By focusing on race and religion Malaysia is changing--you can argue for better or worse--but it is not progressing. And for all the calls to reform before the last GE, Anwar chose poorly when he teamed up with UMNO. Personally, he may not want to be part of the UMNO mindset but that has its own gravitational pull. He's in it and he's stuck with it and at this point it no longer matters what he really wants to do. He's on a path that will be hard to deviate from.

His Islamic creds have been on display for years, the sharp pivot to 'all Islam all the time" is not just a nod to keep the UG together, but a true depiction of what he believes Malaysia should be.

Those who last year called for dissenters to give him more time for reform have grown silent. Their hope that there was a rabbit he could pull out of his hat and bring the country back to reality has faded. Anwar's government, so far, has been a thinly disguised rebirth of the old BN days, in short, a disaster.
