In Malaysia, Non-Malays have a quota system like America, India to name a few (affirmative action-this was the Malay governments explanation). But that name has slowly disappeared. Basically, it's S African apartheid- non-Muslims have no entry into certain faculties (a government policy). Hundreds of high qualifying non-Malays have to fight for a few places, while Muslim Malays with bad scores walked in. Standards have fallen so low; the Malaysian degree is not worth the paper it is written on. As an example, 600 PhDs were handed out-RIDICILOUS! Non-Muslim students who could not get a place (e.g. law faculty, medical) as a student have come back from overseas with foreign degrees and employed to teach at the very university where they were not admitted earlier. The Malay government policy actually did a great injustice to the Maly folk and rolled back education for many. No right-thinking person wants to send their children if they can help it to Malaysian universities. Most UMNO politicians send their children overseas.

If we aren’t being taught how to grow our own food, how to take care of ourselves and our families; how to live without the need for huge government, bank and corporations, as our ancestors once did, then we aren’t being educated . We are being indoctrinated to be dependent and subservient to the system. Gavin Nascimento

“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn. ”

― Alvin Toffler (4 Oct 1928- 27 June 2016)

He who will not reason, is a bigot; he who cannot is a fool; and he who dares not is a slave.

Sir William Drummond (26 Sept 1769-29 March 1828)

Before you speak, listen. Before you write, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you invest, investigate. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. Before you retire, save. Before you die, give. --William A. Ward

Good students become doctors, engineers and other professionals; mediocre students become civil servants, company secretaries and other mundane jobs. Naughty students become sales persons, apprentices in factories who usually become owners of public listed companies and all good students worked for them.

Those dumb students, at the bottom of the barrels, become religious teachers and everyone bow to them for salvation, confession and solace.
