Your premise may be right if in addition to wanting to be the "supreme" race the elites also wanted the easy life. The opium for their masses is them relishing from behind the "supreme" race. The elite on the other hand not only want power, which is only the means, but they also want the riches!

But they are not willing to work hard for it.

This is where the lessons of the fall of the Caliphates that reigned supreme hundreds of years ago may have been learnt.

It would appear that there had to be a critical mass of people within the population that you could extort "jizya" from had to be present within the territory they ruled. But once everyone falls for their proselytising and become Muslim, there would be no more "free money" to collect.

As it is, as confirmed by Mahathir himself over 90% of the taxes collected into the government coffers cone from the non-Muslim populations. The major part of the Muslim contribution towards their obligations go directly as zakat to their preferred Mosques.

If the non-Muslims leave, or become Muslims and also pay zakat, there's not going to be enough to continue with the promise of "ketuanan".

Malaya may not secede. But I can see Sabah and Sarawak doing so. If Sabah decided to secede is bet on the Philippines immediately recognising Sarah's Independence. Indonesia might be next! And we might just see a situation like what the independence driven Ukrainians in Eastern Ukraine with Russia immediately recognising them are now experiencing!

So, maybe the Malay elites might just learn something from the fall of the Caliphates and try not to make the same mistake.

To expect the Malay elites ( riding on the Gravvy Train, some on the Afterlife Soul Train) might just be like a frog 🐸 waiting it's imminent demise in a slow heat cooking pot..they wouldn't feel it now but when they realised it.. it's the Endgame!
